Excerpt from the Dairy of:  Elizabeth Jane Banks Magowan

Jan 30, 1855

It is 29 years today since I was married. Time has many changes thou has made. A death how visitant hast thou been of the large and happy group that were assembled on that occasion but few remain.

My dear old mother, sister Mary, and three brothers have gone to eternity. Good old Parson have died the following summer- sick in faith and good works. Surely goodness and mercy have followed in all the days of my life. I have had some troubles, saw trials, but the Lord has always been a help in time of need.
